On Friday, January 19, P-H-M hosted  21 students and seven teachers from P-H-M’s partner school in Anshan, China.

Click to see the picture gallery below. The visit started at Discovery Middle School where students, staff and P-H-M administrators attended a kick-off breakfast. The student visitors spent the morning at Discovery before traveling via P-H-M school bus to  visit classrooms at Grissom and Schmucker Middle schools—giving them a complete flavor of academic life in Penn-Harris-Madison. Click to see pictures from the  Discovery visit; click see pictures from the Schmucker visit.

The Cultural Exchange program with Anshan is valuable to both teachers and students alike. While the Anshan students got to partake in American student experiences, the teachers compared notes with our teachers about middle school academics and curriculum.

Principal Jean Milfort served as our guests tour guide around Grissom. The Anshan guests presented Mr. Milfort with many gifts to remember the visit by. The visiting teachers and students got to experience  and engage in Grissom academic life by visiting many classrooms, where they got to do their own souvenir take home art projects in Ms. Roeda’s art classroom.
