Under the direction of Mr. Evan White, Penn will compete in the Golden Shovel competition in 2 weeks, which is an annual heavy equipment competition for high school students. Bittersweet 4th graders became scientists by dissecting owl pellets this morning🦉. Pellets are the indigestible bones and fur from an owl’s meal (not poop, they do not smell) - By pulling them apart, students discovered what the owl ate and learned about its prey in the process. Hands-on science at its best! #PHMExcellence

Mary Frank students had a blast with a special visit from the Indianapolis Colts mascot Blue! The program mixed fun and learning with games, positive messages, and even a staff member getting pied in the face before students pledged to take care of themselves and others! #PHMExcellence

Northpoint 2nd graders wrapped up their butterfly project by releasing 5 butterflies into nature today! 🦋 Some took off right away, while others paused before flying to nearby trees where students could admire them up close ☺️ #PHMExcellence

2nd grade students at Northpoint are studying the lifecycle of butterflies. As of this morning, they had one caterpillar left, about a dozen have already formed a chrysalis, and one has already transformed into a butterfly! We’ll share an update when more spread their wings and are released into nature 🦋🦋🦋. Great job, Northpoint! #PHMExcellence
